Democrats are always wanting someone to give them something. Always the governments fault that they are poor and dont have a job and dropped out of school especially when there is a republican in office.
Ill be the first to say that Warner has done a great job as governor. But in VA, the governor does not have a whole lot of power. The house makes all the major decisions and the Republicans control the house. What has made Warner so successful is his ability to work with republicans and democrats alike. Warner is more of a moderate where Tim Kaine is more to the left which will make it difficult for him to get anything done if elected.

No, I personally think the GED program is a good thing. But it just gives fire to the menatality that I dont have to do anything, the government should just take care of me. I understand that in some cases that there are circumstances that will prevent people from graduating high school and I can certainly sympathize.
But if you cant keep in D average in any high school around here there is something bad wrong. As long as you come to class in most schools that I have ever been affiliated with, the teachers and school will do whatever it takes to help you pass. Not many excuses will work for me in that reguard. How hard is it to just go to class?

i agree but 95% of the people who are in the program are straight dropouts, and should be helped...a good number of them just have learning disabilities

Dropouts interputed to me for lack of a better term is a sorry ass which makes my point. I hear so many people say Im quiting school, Im just gonna get my GED. Ive heard it a million times. It just lets people off easy in my eyes and really runs our country into the ground by allowing it to go on.
